Every so often there are whales or dolphins in the harbour. I haven't been lucky enough to spot any until today! This is a big pod of dolphins in Evans Bay - probably Dusky Dolphins. I'd guess they and the gulls circling to the right are munching on a school of kahawai.

That's a lot of dolphins! I don't think I've ever seen that many at once.

Neither had I, before this. A report of a previous sighting of probably the same group put the number at about 200. Considering that in the original photograph I counted 25 at the surface and that the disturbed water extended further than the visible dolphins, that number doesn't seem altogether improbable.

Yeah, me too. Or one of the blue or yellow sailboats.
