Antipodean morris confusion

"I'm dressed in my cricket whites and I've got bells strapped to my knees. So what is it we're doing here again?"

"It's Easter. We're celebrating new life and the return of fertility to the good Mother Earth, Bob."

"Aren't we six months too late for that?"

"Or too early.  Now if you'll just concentrate on not hitting my fingers with your stick for the next two minutes, we can  pack up and go get a pint."

"A handle*."

"Do you want to be relegated to a hankie?"

* NZ unit of beer. A variable quantity, somewhat less than a pint.
