Friday was the day of the Ministry end of year function, so I didn't feel like doing much of anything on Saturday. Lying on the lawn in the almost-sun failing to photograph bumblebees in the too long clover seemed like a really good option. Buttercups don't move nearly as fast as bumblebees do.

That is indeed yellow! Not quite as sharp around the edges of the petals as I'd have shot it, but still quite impressive.
I did try a different crop that put most of the blurred edges of the petals outside the frame, but that also put the most intense yellow at the edge of the picture. I think this one has worked better, but you're welcome to take a look at the other
