It looks like another good day to bike to work. It takes me about half an hour to get there or back, which even with dodging pedestrians around the waterfront seems pretty slow. I've lost all of my biking-type fitness and my legs are telling me about it, as is my bum, despite the cushy gel-seat cover.
I'm not over-impressed with the job the mechanic has done fixing the bike either. I'm still having difficulty getting the chain onto the highest front sprocket, and I think that I should have been given the option of having the index shifter replaced if it wasn't going to be able to do the job. In addition to that, the seat post had not been tightened when I took it and slipped sideways when I hopped on. I just get the feeling that since it's a ~15 year-old bike, not enough care, attention and testing has been done.
Maybe they thought that I was joking or delusional or something when I told them I actually intended using it regularly, and that I'd never figure it out.
