Inside, watching the telly

I'm going to get rid of my TV when I move, and I'm not going to replace it. Not immediately anyway. The analogue TV broadcasts are being shut down soon, my TV doesen't have a digital receiver and although I could get one, I just don't watch enough these days to warrant wasting space in my new place on an ancient CRT TV. If I find I want a TV, I'll buy a smallish flat screen at some later date, but I think I want a printer first, and an overlocker would probably get more use.

And I have a moving date. Booked the truck today for the 9th of February, and I'm getting excited about settling in to the new place. Hopefully my electricity supplier will have worked out where it is by then.

I just watch everything on my laptop. Can you do that there?

I'm sure the electricity supplier will. I could tell you some horror stories about people getting phone/internet connected (or disconnected) here. You are definitely lucky to have NZ and not British Telecom.

Yes and yes, although I was looking for something trivial to watch on demand while folding my washing the other day and there was just nothing.

I'll be getting Telstra Clear Cable Internetz. Using them, TV on demand doesn't count toward one's data cap - and they have a Steam server, so some games won't count either. Do you have data caps in the UK - I know the US doesn't use that charging model. The house is already connected, so it's just a matter of telling them to turn it on.

That sounds clever.

We have "unlimited" internet, which is actually subject to fair use, but for all intents and purposes it is unlimited.

We have plenty of trivial too... if you like reality TV and talent shows.
