If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got.

Come sit together, and everything will come right.

Wellington joins the occupy movement. The message that I am hearing from the people of Occupywallstreet is one of many people, most people, 99% of people, maybe, having played by the rules, worked at what hey could do, when they could do it, and still not been able to achieve the simple security of a place to live, enough to eat and access to a basic level of medical care, and the feeling that this is fundamentally both unjust and an unsustainable way to run a society. In short, something is very, very wrong.

Now I can't say that sleeping out in front of a symbol of your oppression, painting a sign, sharing stories and food and ideas and talking about what's going wrong and how to make it right with twenty or a hundred or a thousand others is going to make everything better. But it is doing something different, and doing something different brings with it the hope of a different, better, fairer, stronger outcome.

Kia kaha, the occupiers.
