New coat

Not the best photography, but you get the idea. The pattern is Butterick, B4929, made up in a lightly quilted cotton and lined with a striped synthetic. Intended for work, on days where the full length black wool is too hot, and a cardigan too cold, but also able to work with a corset and bustle skirt.

Such enthusiasm! Bearing in mind that self-portraits are about my least-favourite type of photography, what would you like to see?

Photogenic as you are, I'd like to see the lapels and back and inside of the jacket. Pretty please!

I like the collar!

It's hard to see black against black pants... does it have tails?

Do you have a mannequin?

I don't have a mannequin, no. For my figure, I'd probably have to get one custom made, although it would make life a whole lot easier. Yes, the coat does have tails.

I have often wondered...
You know the duct tape corset method?
If you layered it on thick enough, cut it off you, then stuffed it...

Nice. You made version B of the pattern, right?
