Festival of the elements

Irene and Monique wait to go on stage at the Porirua Waitangi Day Festival of the Elements. We were misinformed and thought that this year's Element was Fire, hence the choice of costume. Turns out it was actually supposed to be water, which helped by falling out of the sky at a rate carefully calculated for maximum damp while still allowing all the performances to go ahead. Air, miffed at being ignored and threw a tantrum, while Earth just sulked soggily underfoot.

Considering it's near 02:00 on your end of this... here's to a good Waitangi Day. And, somehow, the specifics about the weather seem entirely too appropriate for Aotearoa/NZ. *G*

Wind certainly does look frisky there!
Happy celebrations to you!

Looks like fun, in spite of the rain and wind. (Fortunately, nobody told Arsenic about the festival.)

Or Gold, for that matter, which could be a mixed blessing, were it falling from the sky.
