Nothing is ever discarded






















Down in the forward hold, cables and slings used in previous lifting operations. There's actually a surprising amount of space down there - she has a 15.88m beam and is basically a floating rectangular box.

And I remembered to get a scale.

Looks like two inch diameter wire rope in the last picture. I don't think I've ever seen any that large other than in the cable supports of a bridge before this.

They were apparantly the slings for lifting light rail units out of the holds of the ship they were imported in.
