Boiler room


Boiler. One of two, smaller replacements for the original ones.










No one I talked to had any idea what these tags were supposed to indicate. They were all marked with an individual number of raised dots though, I assume so as to be distinguishable in the dark.























Generator, 2.4 kW IIRC. I like the way that its open and you can just peer into the heart of the thing.

Those brass couplings are eye catching. They also appeal to my mechanic's heart. Such beautiful engineering.

There are some volunteers who's favourite job is polishing the brass bits.

I think those are valve certification and identification tags... used to both ensure the valve is in the safe position during repairs and identify what the valve is, as you surmised, in the dark.

and yeah, my inner engineer is very happy with this series of photo's.
