Cleaning rota? I know they don't really work, but at least then dirt-blind flatmates can see what they're supposed to do.
I had a huge row with a flatmate (who shall remain nameless) once about the fact that stuff like floors and toilets and showers need to be cleaned regularly, and that "whoever makes the mess cleans it up" only goes so far.
Problem is, I don't like sticking to a cleaning rota. I do want the freedom to decide that it's too nice a day to waste on housework, and I know that I will catch up with it before it gets too awful.
Is nameless flatmate a militant vegan by any chance?

No, though that one was funny. An obsessive-compulsive who showers three times a day but won't clean?
"I can't clean because I don't have any gloves"
"Here you go, use these"
"I need brand new gloves"
"Ok, the supermarket's open, I'll go across the road and get you some"
"No, I'll do it later"
And his room was all mouldy!
