They're all good. It's just a question of which idea you want to put out there.

The one that gets my attention the most is the 2nd one, but that's purely subjective. I like sharp focus and clean lines and tricks done with light and shadow.

I agree with wcg, at least in the sense that I don't believe you're overthinking. Experimenting, yes.

The third one is (I'm thinking quite deliberately) the most 'fuzzy' both in execution and concept. All of them intrigue me, challenge is to figure out how you're doing this. *G*

I very much appreciate your input, everyone. :)

I've gone with a reworking of #1, cropped differently to remove that whacking great shadow to the right, which is one of the main things that prompted me to rework it in the first place. I'm still in two minds about the shadow - sometimes I think it balances the whole thing, sometimes I think its just a mistake...
