I belonged to a local camera club for a while, but I just got too busy to keep it up. Seeing what others were doing in the community was really nice, and there were some AMAZING photographers there.
My biggest problem (and this is mostly because of the club itself and the neighborhood where it's located) was that I was, at 30, the youngest member of the club by about 15 years. Most of the members were retirees, and most of them were landscape shooters. So there wasn't a lot of people there with a fresh look or a really cool style that I gravitated towards.
But, man were they a FUN group of retired folks. They'd spend the whole slideshow cracking jokes, it was awesome and no one took themselves too seriously :)
