Best of 2009

My shortlist for the LJ photographers My Favourite of '09 Challenge. I find my shortlist this time is shorter than my list of last year, and is tending towards the monochromatic. Unlike last year, I am pretty certain which one I'm going to use, but your comments on these - or any others you might have been particularly taken by are very much appreciated.

They're all beautiful, but I'll have to give my vote to number 4. That one is great art for the ages.

You guys know it, #4 is the one I went with. This picture was taken on a foggy day with intermittent drizzle, and I spent a lot of time trying to catch the drips from the branches disturbing the reflection of the tree. It hasn't been converted to B&W, either - the grey palette is as it was. It's a photo that will never be repeated as the tree has been removed, which makes me a little melancholy.
