Sea-eggs, sea-urchins, kina. I must have sketched dozens of its fossilised ancestors in stage one geology. The thing about sketching is, it really forces you to take the time to look at things properly.

In other news, the phone line is back up. Telecom's contractors took the exchange apart, moved it closer to us, and then put it back together wrong. After a certain amount of bother involving me having to be at home for two hours in the middle of the day, some blown fuses, and the fact that they'd managed to connect someone else's number to our phone line and vice versa, everything seems to be working OK now. Or at least well enough that I can haz internetz, and that is the most important thing.

I love the texture of the urchin shell.
I've seen jewelry pieces made of it.
