Haha, a joke only the NZers will get. How is it supposed to be tui proof? Could they set it a little higher, kaka are a bit bigger than tui aren't they?
You'll note that the tui is practically standing on tip-toe to reach the nozzle. They thought that they had set them high enough.
The plastic covers are to stop the tui hovering and drinking from the feeders.
I love how much people underestimate the resourcefulness of other animals :)
Either that or they've managed to selectively breed for tui with longer necks.
