Tension

New toy - emphasis on the "toy" part. The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II has very nice sharp optics, but a so-so and mostly plastic build. I can report that the autofocus sounds a bit like an elderly tractor transmission. It is however, very, very cheap ($NZ 195), and therefore worth a go. I'm liking the extra couple of stops of light (and bokeh!) so far, and I wish I'd had it last week for the bellydance shoot. It would have put paid to that unspeakable blue blind.

You have one? The reviews on Amazon were mixed, but my friendly camera shop guy said he'd never had one returned.

Yep, I do... As you say, the construction is cheap, but the quality is good!

Closeup of your sewing machine tensioner? It took me a minute to figure it out. Very sharp image quality.

It's capital C-H-E-A-P. Seriously, sell some knitting bags and get one!
