Legs

A crane fly. We call them daddy-long-legs, but I understand that that name means different critters in different places.

How big is that thing? I'm guessing about 4 or 5 cm in all, with a body about 1 cm.

That'd be about right, yes. If it's still lurking upstairs, I'll see if I can get it next to something for scale.

Interesting, not sure if it's lighting affect or actually like that, but it has a green body...english crane flies are uniformly brown [but otherwise more or less identical]. Round here, they're called crane-flies, Daddy-long-legs or Ginny-long-legs.

It was green.
They're usually brown here too - this is the first time I've noticed a green one. I wonder if its a seasonal thing or a different subspecies.

Ew :(

I had one living in my bedroom a while ago. I was quite happy for it to settle in a corner, but it had to go when it made a move for my makeup case.
