Surreal. Looks like someone filched a Paris landmark and put it on the ridgeline there.
Looking at that, I remembered a trick I picked up from somewhere. If you're shooting into the sun like that, take some cling film and stretch it over the lens tight, it acts as a cheap polarizing filter...[a rubber band helps to hold it in place]
If you really want to look arty, a quick smear of vasoline over the cling film [on the outside!] and a wipe with a cloth or tissue produces a soft-focus effect as well... and in an not-unrelated-I-suspect note, it also does a good job of keeping rain & mist off the lens.
It's a bonny picture without the tricks!
