Buttons from Treasure Cast, octopus (or possibly hexapus, depending on whether you believe it's hiding some arms) from Snapcrafty on Etsy, hat pin beads and findings from Tigereye Beads on Cuba St. The bead on the hat pin is an actual piece of amber, which seemed approprate.

I did finish the coat over the weekend, no pics yet, 'cos I need some sunlight.

That's an impressive looking pile. Especially the hatpin.

This one gives a better idea of the 3-diminsionality of the cephalopod invertebrate. Which avoids the question of hidden extremities rather nicely.

Love amber. Love that warm glow. And those buttons are AWESOME!

Do you have a particular hat in mind?

Yes, I bought a nice 1940s hat on Etsy the other week but it needs to perch on the back of my head so I need some way of securing it there! Then I need those sponge tubes for my victory rolls... and a whole outfit to go with the hat!
