me

on Programming Courses and Muscle Memory

So the dreadful programming course is over. I feel I have proved myself to be at least as able as those holding similar public service positions, which is good since I was really beginning to doubt my worth through those months of unsuccessful job hunting.

It finished about an hour early (we were that good ;)), so I wandered down to the waterfront to perve at the Volvo yachts. They look, unsurprisingly, a little battered. Sponsors logos and such like worn off the hulls.

Also a little battered are my knees and abs. I was surprised that I havn't lost nearly as much of my Aikido as I was afraid of. I wonder if I can attribute some of that to the dancing I've done - or perhaps Sensei was just being polite about someone else's student. One thing - apparently there is a bit more of a focus on weapons at this dojo. I don't really enjoy solo weapons work, but I suspect that, like green vegetables, it will be good for me.
The class itself felt like home. Really really comfortable. I felt a little high, a little hyper coming out of it. Lovely.

The walk home dealt to the hyper-ness. I must remember to take a water bottle next time. Would it really be that lazy to take the bus half-way up the hill?

The previously mentioned photos of new house and surrounding districts have been taken, but I'll either have to pay for my LJ, upload them somewhere else, or e-mail them to interested individuals. If you are an interested individual then let me know. Since this may be a little complicated I may wait until the copy of photoshop promised me at work arrives and do a little post processing.
