Bug mystery

This bug is about 1cm long, and is sitting on a foxglove stem. I have no idea why it is hanging on to a drop, whether the bug collected the drop or whether it excreted it, what the drop is made of, what sort of bug this is, or anything else about this little scene, really.

Looks like a sapsucker of some variety, close relative of the aphid family. So I'd guess it excreted the droplet.

Could be, although it struck me as being quite large for such a thing.

I didn't think we had exceptionally large crickets. Were you thinking of wetas?
