Kitchen herbs

I haven't worked out what the lemon scented basil is good for yet, but it does smell nice.

In other news, I seem to have acquired a new flatmate. Helen, a Ph.D. student studying at the Malaghan Institute.

Yeah - I've still been stressing, but I haven't been posting about it. It's showing in the quality of the photos though.

That is a gorgeous photo! The lighting is just delicious.

Use lemon basil with fish or chicken, or in golden tomato sauce.

Thanks, for both the compliment and the recipe ideas. I don't cook fish much - but I have some ideas for chicken now.

An excellent way to cook chicken is to wrap it completely in fresh leaves, such as basil or sorrel, and then steam or bake it like that.

Mmmm, yes. I was thinking of stuffing chicken breasts with the lemon basil and perhaps some pine-nuts, then baking them as parcels or pan frying them. Lots of room for experimentation.

Oh yes, lemon basil goes excellently with pine nuts. Good idea!
