Naval abstract

Part of the battered but serviceable hull of the MV Doulos, the worlds oldest passenger ship and floating bookshop. Floating Christian bookshop, not that their publicity material makes that clear. I didn't buy anything as I don't really approve of either missionary work or bait and switch tactics.

It doesn't look like something I'd want to go to sea aboard. The scale that's been painted over probably has rust under it, and that rust is still eating into the plating. I know there are a lot of old merchant ships out on the briney deep with just this problem, but I also know they break apart in bad storms.

But the Good Lord is on their side. What could possibly go wrong. :|
I would actually worry more about the potential for psychological disasters in an isolated community of passionately devout but young and inexperienced people.

Oh, so they actually sail around in that rust-bucket? Yes, that's a recipe for disaster in several different directions.

Yes, yes they do. It could make a really scary novel.
